Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well."
The story follows Raya, a warrior from the Land of Kumandra who is on the search to find the last dragon to save humanity. The teaser trailer reveals that Raya, has been training for this particular mission her entire life, even training at a young age.
It is also safe to say that Raya gives us a lot of Korra Vibes. Korra is the main protagonist from the Avatar the last airbender sequel; The Legend of Korra.
Raya and the last dragon also involves people with color and also have a strong female protagonist. It also have a compelling story. Disney has always been showing strong female leads. From Mulan to Merida, Elsa, Anna and Moana, it has portrayed them as strong and independent. It would be fun to see how Disney will tell Raya's story.
